Essex looking for veteran stories ahead of Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day is not too far off, and the Town of Essex wants to honour the men and women who served our country in times of war, military conflict, and peace.

The Town hopes veterans who served in the First World War, Second World War, the Korean War, and Afghanistan, and peacekeepers will submit their stories online.

A collection of them will be posted on the municipal website.

"We are honoured to recognize our local veterans," said Mayor Richard Meloche. "The memory of your sacrifice will not be forgotten."

The Town of Essex and the Royal Canadian Legion will hold this year's Remembrance Day Ceremony on November 11. Details about the ceremony will be announced soon.
