Industrial accident investigated in Tecumseh

The Ontario Ministry of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development has confirmed that it is investigating an industrial accident that took place Monday.

Few details have been released, but the incident occurred at Cottam Diecasting Ltd. on County Road 42 near Shiff Drive.

Ministry spokesperson Anu Dhar confirmed that the accident involved a piece of machinery.

"Two orders were issued to the employer 1942344 Ontario Limited," said Dhar in an email to WindsorNewsToday.ca. "A ministry inspector has been assigned, and the investigation is ongoing."

There was no immediate word on injuries.

According to the company's official website, Cottam Diecasting Ltd. is housed in a 76,000-square-foot facility and has been in business since 1956. They create aluminum and zinc die castings for use in the automotive, industrial, and marine industries, as well as by the military.
