One Windsor-Essex community is offering residents a chance to keep track of ongoing projects with just the click of a mouse.
The Municipality of Lakeshore has launched an interactive map pinpointing current and upcoming capital improvement projects. The map can be found on the municipality's official website, with each project including information on the type, cost, and time needed to complete.
Mayor Tom Bain said the map is ideal for keeping transparent about project duration and cost and keeps residents updated on jobs taking place in their own neighbourhoods.
"It’s one thing to see millions of dollars worth of work written in our budget documents but putting those projects on a map really shows the incredible amount of work we’re doing," said Bain in a media release. "Investing in capital projects has been a priority for council, and this map helps us tell that story, to communicate the scope and scale of these critical infrastructure investments."
Information on projects approved in the 2022 budget is on the map, along with those approved between 2020 and 2021 that are ongoing. The map is easily downloadable on desktop computers, laptops, cell phones or other personal devices.
