UPDATE: LCBO in Windsor out of COVID-19 tests

Two of the 100 LCBO locations across Ontario offering take-home rapid antigen tests for COVID-19 were in Windsor.

The LCBO location at the Roundhouse Centre on Howard Avenue just south of the E.C. Row Expressway offered them, along with the location at Tecumseh Mall on Tecumseh Road East at Lauzon Parkway.

As of 1:30 p.m. the LCBO reported the location at Tecumseh Mall is out of tests. The Roundhouse Centre location ran out around 3:30 p.m.

The Ontario government announced it was making the tests available to the public earlier this week as cases involving the Omicron variant began to rise.

Since Monday, the province has reported over 10,000 new cases of COVID-19. On Friday, there were 3,142, an increase of more than 700 from Thursday, which had more than 600 more than Wednesday.

As of Friday, there were 15,792 active cases in Ontario, and Windsor-Essex had 652.

There is no word on when the LCBO will get more tests in. Follow its official website for updates.
