Ontario Provincial Police arrested two Windsor-Essex drivers in separate incidents Thursday night.
The first took place shortly after 9 p.m. OPP officers, the Leamington Fire Department, and Essex-Windsor paramedics went to a house on Marlborough Street East in Leamington, where a Dodge Charger was allegedly driven into the house, along with two parked vehicles.
The driver ran from the scene but was apprehended a short time later. The 29-year-old Leamington man was charged with operating while impaired, operating with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood, failure to remain at the scene of a crash, being a novice driver with a BAC over zero, and being a G-1 licence holder without a qualified driver present.
The second crash occurred at around 10:30 p.m., officers from the OPP Essex detachment responded to a single-vehicle crash on Laird Avenue in Essex.
The officer noticed that the driver was allegedly drinking, and a roadside screening test was administered. Two breath samples were taken, and both came out over the legal limit.

The 23-year-old Essex man has been charged with operating a vehicle with over 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood.
Both drivers lost their licences for 90 days, and their vehicles were impounded for seven days. Both will have a chance to respond to the charges in a Windsor court at later dates.
