Deceased man found in downtown Windsor identified

Windsor police say a man found dead in the downtown core last month has been identified.

Officers were called at around 5 a.m. on October 26 to Dougall Avenue and Victoria Avenue to assist emergency personnel. The man was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, but his death was not considered suspicious.

The man, who had no identification on him, was described by police as Middle Eastern, age 60 to 70 and balding with short, white facial hair.

On Tuesday, police publicly identified the man as a 66-year-old Windsor resident. Family members were notified on November 1.

The man's name is not being publicly released. Windsor police would like to thank the public and the media for their help in resolving this matter.
