Three new COVID-19 cases identified

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported three new cases of COVID-19 in the region on Thursday.

Among the new cases, one is travel-related and one is a close contact of a confirmed case. One case is still under investigation.

There were three cases removed from the official health unit total due to data clean-up. There have been 16,851 cases of COVID-19 in the region since the start of the pandemic.

The health unit is monitoring 14 active cases in the community and one workplace outbreak.

Local hospitals continue to treat three patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

To date, 76.6 per cent of adults in the region have received one dose of a vaccine and 65.2 per cent have been fully vaccinated. All mass vaccinations clinics are now offering same-day appointments and are open for walk-ins.
