Active cases continue to decline

There are less than 20 active cases of COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex now.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit reported an increase of one case on Tuesday.

There are 19 active cases, and four of them involve a variant of concern.

There have been 16,846 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, and 16,391 people have recovered. There have been 436 deaths linked to the virus.

Local hospitals are treating five patients who have tested positive for COVID-19.

To date, 75.6 per cent of adults in Windsor-Essex have received at least one dose of a vaccine and 59.1 per cent are fully vaccinated.
