Two arrested in kidnapping investigation

The Windsor Police Service rescued a woman from Montreal who they say was being held against her will in a house on Tournier Street.

Around 4 a.m. Wednesday, police began an investigation into a report that a woman brought from Montreal to Windsor needed immediate help. Police did not know the exact location of the victim, but it was reported she may have been brought here against her will.

Police identified a house on Tournier Street and contained the area. The woman was found at the residence around 6 a.m. However, the suspects were not immediately located.

The Windsor Police Service said they contained the home and the suspects eventually exited the house around 10:30 a.m. They were arrested without incident.

Oliver Exalus, 21, from Laval, Quebec and Abder Jama Abdi, 20, from Pierrefonds, Quebec both face kidnapping charges, which have not been proven in court.

The Major Crime Unit is continuing its investigation and is asking anyone in the area of Tournier Street and Baby Street with surveillance cameras to check their footage for possible evidence.
