UPDATE: Janette Ave. fire investigation complete

Windsor Fire and Rescue were called to battle a massive house fire on Janette Avenue Friday evening.

Emergency crews arrived at the fully engulfed home off of Wyandotte Street West around 10 p.m. Nearly one hour into working on the blaze, firefighters said they would switch tactics to an exterior attack.

Shortly after midnight, the fire was knocked down but crews were still dealing with hot spots.

Investigators with the Windsor Fire and Rescue Services and Windsor Police Service attended the scene on Saturday.

Damages are estimated to be about $350,000. No injuries were reported. On Saturday, officials deemed the fire suspicious.

The Ontario Fire Marshall was on the scene Sunday and it has now been determined that the fire was intentionally set, having started on the exterior. Exposure damage to the neighbouring home is estimated around $25,000.
