UPDATE: Midfield Cres. fire investigation complete

Working smoke alarms are to thank for four people getting out safely from an overnight house fire in Forest Glade.

Around 3:30 a.m., crews responded to a blaze on  Midfield Crescent, off of Wildwood Drive.

According to Windsor Fire and Rescue, the residents were alerted by working smoke alarms and able to get out of the home.

As a result of the fire, four people were left without a place to live, though no one was injured.

On Saturday, officials deemed the fire suspicious. Following an investigation by the Ontario Fire Marshall, it was concluded that the fire was started intentionally. The fire started with a shed, which then spread to the house, three fences, and decks. The total damage is now estimated to be around $500,000.
