GoFundMe page created for charged Windsor pastor

A GoFundMe page has been set up seeking donations to help pay for legal fees after a Windsor pastor was charged under the Reopening Ontario Act last weekend.

Last Sunday, police charged Dr. Aaron Rock, the lead pastor at the Harvest Bible Church for holding a service while Windsor-Essex was under grey-lockdown restrictions.

Reverend Dr. Tony Costa created the page in support of Rock who could face a fine upwards of $100,000 if found guilty.

"Aaron decided to open his church for the many who were hurting, depressed, anxious, unemployed, and some with suicidal ideations in order to provide a haven of support and ministry outreach." Costa wrote on the GoFundMe page.

In two days, the fundraiser has received over $35,000 of its $50,000 goal.

Only 10 people are allowed to attend an indoor religious service under the grey-lockdown restrictions implemented by the province. This limit of 10 includes parishioners, officiants, and staff.
