Boil water advisory ended in Leamington

A boil water advisory for parts of Leamington has been rescinded.

Windsor -Essex Medical Officer of Health Dr. Wajid Ahmed ended the advisory on Friday after it was issued for the north and south side of Mersea Road 10 between Highway 77 and Kent Road 1 on Tuesday.

The advisory was issued in response to an adverse water sample and possible contamination of the water supply. However, the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit said on Friday that consecutive water samples now meet the drinking water quality standards.

"Our staff will continue to work closely with Union Water Supply System and will ensure users are notified of any water quality changes," the health unit said in a news release.

Anyone with questions about the advisory is encouraged to call 519-258-2146 ext. 4475.
