Leamington Fire responds to house explosion near Pt. Pelee

The Leamington Fire Department was dispatched to a home explosion on Marentette Beach in Leamington on Sunday.

The report came in just before 6 p.m. Leamington Fire Chief, Andrew Baird Tweeted that multiple units were responding to a house explosion.

Provincial police say Marentette Beach Road will remain closed for several hours while the office of the Ontario Fire Marshal investigates.

Images on social media depict what's left of the home located near Point Pelee National Park while crews battled the fire. No other details, including injuries have been made available.
