Residents of the Huron Lodge long-term care home can once again visit with family members outside after subsequent testing of a staff member came up negative for COVID-19.
The City of Windsor reported last week a staff member at the facility had tested positive for the virus but was social-isolating at home.
However, a second test has since come back negative, as did a third.
Outdoor visits were suspended after the first test to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Window visits and visits on computers were still allowed.
Because it was just one case at the municipal facility, it was not considered an outbreak by the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit.
There are currently outbreaks at three long-term care and retirement homes in Windsor-Essex. Three staff members have tested positive at Devonshire Retirement Residence, one at Riverside Place, and is confirmed to have the virus, while one resident has the virus at Extendicare Tecumseh.
