Angelo Marignani has officially filed his nomination papers for the Ward 7 by-election, making him the 11th candidate vying for the position.
Marignani did own the Milk Coffee Bar in downtown Windsor, and has lived in Ward 7 for 18 years. He now works for Magna International. This is the fifth time he has run in an election for this seat on council.
"This is our city and I love our city and I feel like we could be doing much more as far as making our city a more attractive, world-class centre that it should be," said Marignani.
He said his main areas of focus are great neighbourhoods, strong infrastructure, and putting taxpayers first.
"Our ageing infrastructure is probably one of the biggest issues, flooding, water management, flood mitigation, how we're going to address that. I think we need to be proactive in this changing environment," said Marignani.
Other candidates include Howard Weeks, Albert Saba, Thérèse Papineau, Michael Malott, Greg Lemay, Ernie Lamont, Barb Holland, Jeewen Gill, Farah El-Hajj, and Igor Dzaic.
The deadline to file papers is Friday at 2 p.m. The by-election will be held on April 27, 2020.
