OPP looking for witnesses to Hwy 3 crash

Provincial police are looking for witnesses to a crash on Highway 3 in Tecumseh on Saturday afternoon.

Around 2:45 p.m, the OPP was called to a two-vehicle collision in the westbound lanes of Highway 3 west of Walker Road. They say a black four-door car was stopped in a traffic lane for an unknown reason. Shortly afterward, a maroon minivan rear-ended the vehicle at a high rate of speed.

Police said another car stopped next to the black vehicle and had a brief conversation with the driver before the crash occurred. The OPP is looking to speak to the driver of that vehicle to determine if they can provide details to assist with the investigation.

At the time of the collision, there were two people in the stopped vehicle and seven in the minivan. Multiple people sustained injuries ranging from minor to non-life threatening.

Anyone that may have any information that will assist with this investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 519-723-2491.
