Increased water levels and high winds have prompted a flood watch for the Lake Erie shoreline.
The Essex Region Conservation Authority said winds reaching speeds of 30 kilometres per hour to 40 km/h are expected from the south and southwest during the early part of Tuesday morning. These conditions will bring an added risk of flooding and nearshore erosion due to increased wave activity.
The areas that could be impacted by flooding include Lake Erie shoreline areas in Amherstburg, Essex, Kingsville, Leamington and Pelee Island.
Residents in the area are urged to use extra caution to avoid areas where flooding is occurring as the conditions could become dangerous.
The flood watch will remain in effect until 12 p.m. on Tuesday
