With English Catholic teachers and French Language teachers ready to walk off the job again Thursday, the City of Windsor is again offering day camps for parents who do not have child care.
Both AEFO, which represents French Language teachers, and the Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association have a one-day province-wide strike planned Thursday if there is no deal with the province. Catholic elementary and high schools, along with French Language schools, will be closed.
The strike will also shut down EarlyOn Child and Family Centres at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and H.J. Lassaline Catholic Elementary schools in Windsor, along with Holy Name Catholic Elementary in Essex, Sacred Heart Catholic Elementary in LaSalle, and St. Pius Catholic Elementary school in Tecumseh.
If you have any questions about what centres are open and which are closed, call 519-255-5344.
The day camps are at Capri Pizzeria Recreation Complex on Pulford Street and the Optimist Community Centre on Ypres Avenue.
Children can be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 5:30 p.m.
Parents can register their child any time at any of the city's community centres.
If the strike is suspended, the city will offer a full refund.
