Spitfires double Storm 6-3

The Windsor Spitfires are celebrating a win after beating the Guelph Storm 6-3 at WFCU Centre on Saturday.

The Spitfires came out with an early lead in the first period with a goal from Egor Afanasyev, followed by one from Curtis Douglas. The Spitfires ended the first period with a 2-1 lead.

Douglas scored another goal for the Spits just seconds into the second period. Douglas and Thomas Stevenson then assisted in a goal made by Daniel D'Amico. Guelph only had one goal in the second, allowing Windsor to maintain its lead heading into the third period.

Connor Corcoran secured Windsor's lead with a goal in the third during a power play. Will Cuylle got another in net for Windsor. Although the Storm got the last goal of the night, it was the Spitfires that skated off with the win.

The Spitfires are back in action on Sunday afternoon to host the Kingston Frontenacs. Puck drop is set for 2:05 p.m.
