Spitfires can't outrun Greyhounds in overtime

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 2-1 overtime decision to the Soo Greyhounds at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

The Greyhounds were first to score 7:55 into the game but Curtis Douglas scored with just over six minutes left in the first period to tie the game. The game remained tied at 1-1 for the second and third frames to force the game in OT, where the Soo scored the game-winner in just under three minutes.

Spitfires goaltender Xavier Medina made 30 saves out of 32 shots on net.

The Spitfires are on home ice again on Saturday to take on the Guelph Storm at 7:05 p.m.
