UPDATE: Students return to school after evacuation

Windsor police are investigating an "unsubstantiated threat" at St. John Vianney elementary school.

A representative from the Windsor Essex Catholic District School Board said as a precaution all of the students and staff were moved to the church across the street as they arrived at the school Wednesday morning.  They returned to the school around 10:30 a.m. after Windsor police deemed it safe.

"Student and staff safety obviously is our number one priority," said board spokesman Stephen Fields.  "We took the measures that we needed to as soon as we heard about this threat."

All parents were notified through a voice message around 8:20 a.m.  However, the board said there was no need for parents to pick up their children as they were being supervised at the church.

The investigation into the threat continues.
