Suspect charged in string of Tecumseh break-ins

The Ontario Provincial Police have arrested and charged a 29-year-old man in connection with a series of robberies.

Jesse Brode, 29, of Windsor, has been charged with four counts of break-and-enter, possession of stolen property over $5,000, using a disguise with intent to commit an offence, and driving while prohibited.

Around 5 a.m. on December 9, 2019, a man forcibly entered three Tecumseh businesses in the area of Tecumseh Road East and Manning Road. Merchandise was taken from each business, along with toys being collected at one of the companies for donations to local families in need.

The Essex County OPP's Community Street Crime Unit attributes the apprehension of the suspect to the video surveillance units located not only in the victimized businesses but also in neighbouring establishments.

These charges have yet to be proven in court.
