UPDATE: Highway 401 eastbound lanes re-opened following motorcycle collision

Two motorcyclists crashed on Highway 401, closing the eastbound lanes at Manning Road in Lakeshore on Saturday.

According to Essex County OPP, the motorcyclists were traveling as part of a larger group before two of them collided sending both riders to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Around 4:08 p.m., OPP Communications confirmed via Twitter that the two motorcycles were blocking the eastbound lanes.

The lanes were closed for around 90 minutes and were re-opened around 5:40 p.m.
