Body found in Lake Erie that of Windsor man

The Ontario Provincial Police has now identified the body found in Lake Erie in Leamington over the weekend.

The body was found around 7 p.m. Sunday floating in the water near the beach not far from the municipal dock.

The OPP said 54-year-old Robert Tonato of Windsor was pulled from the water near Erie Street South, and paramedics tried to revive him.

He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police continue their investigation, but say the death is not suspicious.
