UPDATE: Severe thunderstorm warning ends in Windsor-Essex

A second severe thunderstorm warning has now ended for Windsor-Essex.

Environment Canada issued the first warning around 2:30 p.m. Friday, as the weather agency tracked a severe thunderstorm capable of producing heavy downpours, strong wind gusts and nickel-sized hail. The line of storms was reported northwest of LaSalle and moving east.

The first warning was lifted around 3:30 p.m. but another one was issued about an hour. This storm was moving through LaSalle and also heading east at about 50 kilometres per hour.

The severe thunderstorm warning was lifted around 6:30 p.m., but a watch remained in effect until around 10 p.m.
