Officials from the City of Windsor and the Windsor Port Authority have issued a warning for those who plan to watch the fireworks on the water.
Boaters are asked to keep their speed to below 10 knots when they are within 100 feet of the shoreline. Wakes from faster moving vehicles can cause shoreline erosion and present a safety hazard for those close to the shore.

High water levels on the Detroit River create dangerous conditions this year. Officials warn the water is much deeper than usual near the shoreline, it is colder than normal, and it is moving more quickly.
Obstructions near the shore that would typically be visible to boaters may be hidden below the water now, including docks, rocks, and pilings.
The fireworks will start at 9:55 p.m. on Monday. The rain date is at 9:55 p.m. on Tuesday.
