Organizers cancel Chaps and Spurs Country Fest

A Windsor country music festival is cancelled because of what the organizer calls "unforeseen circumstances".

The Chaps and Spurs Festival was scheduled for this August 16 and 17 in Lanspeary Park in Windsor.

The promoter issued a statement Sunday night that read, "it is with the deepest regret that we must announce the sudden cancellation of this year's Chaps & Spurs Country Fest - Windsor 2019."

"Ticket purchasers will be receiving an email in the upcoming days, and a full refund will be automatically issued to all those who purchased advanced tickets," the promoter said.

The statement does not say what are the unforeseen circumstances.

The two-day festival was nominated one of the top five local music festivals by Tourism Windsor Essex Pelee Island in 2017 and 2018.

This year's lineup included Kelsi Mayne, Hunter Brothers, and The Road Hammers.

The promoter hopes to bring the festival back next year.
