Charges laid and gun seized after domestic abuse case in Windsor

A domestic violence incident in downtown Windsor has resulted in assault charges and a firearm being seized.

Police arrested a 28-year-old Windsor man after he allegedly ran away from a home on Pelissier Street Saturday morning. He was found at another home on Pelissier Street and Elliott Street a couple of hours later and was arrested without incident.

Officers also found a firearm belonging to the suspect during their investigation the next day and confiscated it in the interest of public safety.

The suspect's identity has not been released to protect the victim.
