Health unit helping you keep cool with a water app

When you quench your thirst this summer, the Windsor Essex County Health Unit wants to make sure you're not all wet.

The health unit launched on Monday a new webpage and app called WECHU Water. The app is designed to help direct people to a variety of clean water sources throughout Windsor-Essex. These not only include beaches, but also splash pads, water fountains and filling stations, swimming pools, and other sources.

The WECHU said the app is ideal for anyone looking for a beach to go to on a hot day, for bicyclists or runners wanting to see where there's a convenient place to refill their bottles, and for families wanting a cool, refreshing dip at a swimming pool or splash pad.

The webpage consists of a fully-interactive map listing all clean water sources throughout the region, 41 of them in the city of Windsor alone. Different icons show the different types of water sources. By clicking on the water source, you can see its location and how to get there. Information on inspection reports and the results of each source's water testing are also available.

The app is easily available on all desktops, laptops, smartphones and tablets. To try the app for yourself, visit the official app page.
