Kingsville motorcycle crash turns fatal

A Kingsville man is dead following a collision Friday morning.

The crash took place around 10:30 a.m. in Kingsville on Highway 3, west of County Road 29. On Saturday morning Essex County OPP confirmed that 50-year-old Tyler Knight died from injuries sustained in the collision.

According to police, Knight was traveling westbound on his motorcycle when he was struck by an eastbound commercial vehicle.

The driver of the commercial vehicle was not injured.

The highway was shut down for almost six hours in both directions between Belle River Road or County Road 27 and Division Road while police remained on the scene.

There is no word on any charges at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
