UPDATE: Standoff at Windsor home ends in arrest

Police have arrested one person following a standoff on Capitol Street in Windsor.

The Windsor Police Service reported on Thursday at around 3 p.m. that officers had closed off a section of the street near Howard Avenue, after a man shut himself in a home and refused to leave. Police said the man was wanted in connection with an assault case.

There was no danger to the public, according to police, but officers were asking people to avoid the area.

Over three hours later at around 6:30 p.m., police said the situation had been resolved and a male suspect had been arrested.
