Basketball picks make Windsor man $50K richer

Correctly predicting winners of basketball games has paid off big time for a Windsor man.

Joseph Martineau stopped by the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto this week to collect a $50,000 cheque for winning the Point Spread game, college basketball edition.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Havana Palace on Huron Church Road in west Windsor, according to Ontario Lottery and Gaming.

Point Spread is part of the OLG's Pro-Line set of games. To play, bettors put down $2 to $100 on a maximum of 12 basketball games, trying to guess whether the team they choose to win will cover or exceed the point spread. The more teams guessed correctly, the greater the potential for a big win.
