Running a red light leads to multiple charges for Windsor pair

Two Windsor teenagers are facing several drug-related charges following a routine traffic stop.

According to police, on Wednesday at 12 a.m. officers pulled over a vehicle for running a red light at the intersection of Ouellette Avenue and Park Street West. Police discovered that the car had two different licence plates on it, neither of which were registered to the vehicle.

During the traffic stop, officers also learned the driver and passenger were both breaching bail conditions.

Both parties were arrested without incident and found to be in possession of suspected cannabis, cannabis edibles, and psilocybin (mushrooms).

Robert Main, an 18-year-old from Windsor, is charged with possession of suspected cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of suspected psilocybin, breach of recognizance, failing to stop at a red light and having a licence plate not authorized for the vehicle.

A 17-year-old female is facing charges of possession of suspected cannabis for the purpose of selling it, possession of suspected psilocybin and breach of recognizance. Due to her age, her name cannot be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
