Another bumper apple crop this fall means Thiessen's Orchards in Leamington can donate 9,000 apples to the Windsor-Essex Children's Aid Society.
"We are excited to be in a position that we can donate the additional fruit from our orchard," said Andrew Thiessen. "This donation is a small way to give back to the community that supports us all season long."
Staff from the Children's Aid Society will pick up 1,500 bags of apples at the orchard Tuesday morning.
Thiessen's Orchard says the gift underlines the importance of healthy eating and proper nutrition which is essential to positive child development.
