LaSalle celebrates craft beer at fifth annual festival

If you love craft beer, the Vollmer Culture and Recreation Complex is the place to be Friday night and Saturday.

The LaSalle Craft Beer Festival kicks off with entertainment from Melissa Megan at 6 p.m. At 8 p.m., DJ Daryl Muscat will host the Throwback Party.

Saturday's lineup includes Colton Summers Young, The Van Lares, Tara Watts, Sam Woolf, and Wednesday's Engine.

At 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the LaSalle Craft Beer Festival 5K Beer Run gets underway.

Wolfhead Distillery and 12 brewers are taking part this year. Of the local favourites, festival-goers can sample a drink from Brew, Chapter Two Brewing Company, Craft Heads, FRANK, The Grove Brewing House, Sandwich Brewing Co., and Walkerville Brewery.

In partnership with Tourism Windsor-Essex Pelee Island, the festival will feature its own Barrels, Bottles and Brews Tour. Attendees can collect stamps from vendors to complete a passport and receive a commemorative LaSalle Craft Beer Festival keychain.

Butchers on the Block and Road Chef will provide food for the event.

LaSalle Transit is also extending its hours of service for the event. From 7 p.m. until midnight, the bus will be free. Between 7 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., it will run its regular route around LaSalle; then it will act as a shuttle service for LaSalle residents.
