Murder Investigation Uncovers Ties To Peel Region

Windsor police say their investigation into the murder of a university student is focusing on the Peel Region.

Investigators continue to look into the murder of 20-year-old Jason Solomon, with the WPS Major Crimes Unit saying Friday that they are looking into potential links with the Peel Region. Police have not released specific details concerning this lead.

Solomon, who was studying criminology at the University of Windsor, is from the Peel Region. He was killed in the overnight hours of Monday, having been shot in the area of Ouellette Ave. and University Ave. in downtown Windsor. A 19-year-old woman, who was dating Solomon, was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are looking for two suspects who were seen running north on Ouellette after the shooting took place.
