McNamara says he still has the fire in his belly to serve and it burns strong.
He says there's lots of work still to do to move the town forward and that's why he's seeking re-election in the October 22 municipal election.
McNamara says when the fire goes out that's when he'll know it's time to step aside.
He has served four terms as mayor. McNamara was elected as mayor in 2003.
