Charge Upgraded To Manslaughter After St. Louis' Death

The charge against the man arrested for the assault of Lakeshore District Fire Chief Joe St. Louis has been upgraded to manslaughter.

Windsor police arrested 43-year-old Michael Hill after they were called to Daytona Ave. on March 24 for an assault report. St. Louis passed away on March 29 due to injuries sustained during the assault.

A woman was also assaulted during the incident but not seriously injured.

Hill was originally facing aggravated assault and assault charges but the aggravated assault charge has been upgraded to manslaughter.

The case remains under active investigation by the Major Crimes Branch.
