According to the president of Unifor Local 444, there's still a long way to go in negotiations with Caesar's Windsor.
About 2,300 casino workers including dealers, cooks, housekeepers, and janitors could hit the picket line at midnight Wednesday if a deal is not reached.
Unifor 444 President James Stewart says it's not impossible but there is still a lot of ground to cover.
"We've been very clear on where we need to be, where our members' expectations are, and the company has been pretty clear where they're willing to get to and where their lines are and right now there is a significant gap," says Stewart.
On March 21, workers voted 98.3% in favour of strike action if necessary.
"Almost entirely the non-monetary issues that we've been able to get have been resolved," says Stewart. "Generally, we're totally financials at this point."
He says they will continue bargaining throughout the day and night until a deal is reached.
