The Essex Region Conservation Authority (ERCA) has again adjusted its flood outlook for the eastern shoreline of Leamington.
As of 9am Monday, the authority has replaced a flood warning for that area with a flood watch. It says the wind has died down some.
Sunday night, Tim Byrne, director of ERCA's watershed management services, said in a release that water was cresting over the shoreline at Cotterie Park, the Elmdale subdivision and Lakeshore Park.
Wave splash also affected areas around East Beach and Marentette Beach.
A flood watch remains in effect for east Windsor, Tecumseh and Lakeshore because of strong winds in the forecast. Winds are forecast from the east and northeast at 3o km/h with gusts up to 50km/h.
ERCA adds that the wind speed and direction will also cause water levels to rise in the western basin of Lake Erie and the Detroit River.
It is reported that significantly elevated water levels increase the possibility for damage to existing docks and shoreline facilities on private lands and within marinas.
