A Tecumseh toddler suffering from a rare disease is in need of a bone marrow transplant.
Zoe Dudzianiec has been diagnosed with Diamond-Blackfan Anemia- a rare genetic disorder where the bone marrow does not make enough red blood cells. The 2 and a half year old is one of less than 1000 patients who suffer from the disorder worldwide.
In order to treat the disorder, Dudzianiec needs daily chelation therapy and frequent blood transfusions. However the treatment is starting to take its toll and the young girl suffers from frequent seizures.
The next best treatment for Dudzianiec is a stem cell/bone marrow transplant.
