UPDATE: West Windsor Suspicious Package Deemed Safe

Windsor police have given the all clear after a package was found at Mackenzie Hall in Windsor's west end.

The Windsor Police Service explosive disposal unit was called out Tuesday just after 7pm, to the City of Windsor owned building on Sandwich St. after employees reported the suspicious item.

There was no evidence of any explosive material, and the package was deemed safe.

A police investigation has revealed that the device was accidentally left behind from a previous event.

Authorities say there was no threat to public safety.
