Spitfires Edge Greyhounds 3-2

The Windsor Spitfires topped the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds 3-2 at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

Igor Larionov was first to score for Windsor with a goal 15:02 into the game.

The Greyhounds tied things up in the second period with a goal of their own early in the frame, but Curtis Douglas and Daniel D'Amico both scored in the third to put the Spitfires back in the lead.  Sault Ste. Marie scored one last goal in final seconds of the game but remained one point behind Windsor.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 26 saves out of 28 shots on net.

The Spitfires will head to Erie on Saturday to face off against the Otters at 7pm.
