Flu Outbreak Ends At Windsor Hospital

The Windsor Regional Hospital has announced that a flu outbreak at one of its campuses is officially over.

According to a news release, the Infection Prevention and Control Department has reported that the Influenza B Outbreak in the 6N unit at Met Campus has ended.

The news release states that the outbreak began on January 2 and was officially declared on January 8.

It is reported that two patients and three staff were affected by the outbreak.

A new case related to the outbreak has not developed since January 2 and no staff have reported a new onset of the illness since January 5.

Hospital staff are being advised to continue to take precautions to avoid spreading the virus.
