Spitfires Fall To Sting 5-3

The Windsor Spitfires were unable to complete a comeback in a 5-3 loss to the Sarnia Sting on Thursday.

The Sting started the game off strong, scoring three back-to-back goals in the first period.  Sarnia added another early in the second, but Curtis Douglas scored to put Windsor on the board after 16:43.  The Sting made it 5-1 with one more goal late in the frame.

Daniel D'Amico and Cole Purboo both scored for Windsor in the third, but the Spitfires were unable to recover before the end of the period.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 35 saves out of 40 shots on net.

The Spitfires will face off against the Sting again on Friday at 7:05pm in Sarnia.
