UPDATE: Man Charged Following Downtown Incident

Windsor police say a man has been charged with uttering threats following an incident at a downtown business.

The police were called to the business on Ouellette Ave. at Riverside Dr. around 3:45pm Wednesday, after a man refused to leave.

According to Sergeant Steve Betteridge, the suspect had previously been asked to leave the business but he later returned, saying he had a gun.

Police were called and officers quickly descended on the business, but when the man resisted arrest, he was tasered.

The suspect, identified by police as 36-year-old Tarek Elias, has been charged with one count of uttering threats.

Police say the suspect did not have a weapon on him.
