Steelheads Edge Spits 3-2

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 3-2 decision to the Mississauga Steelheads on Friday.

Kirill Kozhevnikov kicked off the game for Windsor with a goal 13:52 into the first period, but Mississauga responded with two goals for their own in the second.  Cole Purboo scored for Windsor with half a minute left in the frame to tie things up heading into the third.

The Steelheads score the game-winning goal with just under five minutes left in the game.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 26 saves out of 29 shots on net.

The Spitfires return home to battle the Saginaw Spirit on Sunday. The puck drops at 1:05pm.
