Police investigators in LaSalle have identified a 19-year-old man as the victim in a fatal crash on Monty St. Thursday.
Just after 3:30pm, a pickup truck left the road between Malden Rd. and Matchette Rd. and struck a light standard. The driver was ejected from the truck.
Police say Nick Monforton died at the scene.
The investigation continues, but Constable Harbinder Gill tells BlackburnNews.com that early indications suggest speed and not wearing a seatbelt may have been contributing factors to the fatality.
The post-mortem examination will be conducted Friday.
