Boy Recovering After Being Struck

Lasalle police are looking for a woman who allegedly struck a youth with a vehicle and then left the scene.

Investigators say a 16-year-old boy was hit at Michigan Ave and Maple on Tuesday at around 4:30pm.

Authorities say the woman was driving a burgundy SUV or van and left the scene without calling police.

She's described as white, 40 to 50 years old with brown hair and a European accent.

Constable Harbinder Gill says the woman got out and told the boy "it wasn't her fault" before she drove off.

Gill says the boy suffered scratches and cuts to his elbow, legs, and hip.

Lasalle police say the vehicle should have damage to the front bumper.

Anyone with information is asked to call LaSalle police.
